GAUGE:
13 sts and 12 rows = 4in [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Streamlined Sweater Jacket Reviewed by Shahidah Henderson on 2011-01-31
I made this sweater. I did use a different yarn, but I checked the gauge and made sure it was the same. I've crocheted for 40 years and I think this was a poorly written pattern. No stitch count at the end of rows (especially for the front panels)and no width given for the two front panels. If you make the front panels with the chain count given - they come out too narrow. And unless I misread the instructions my sweater turned out with a collar, unlike the picture.
