GAUGE: 17 stitches + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SCARF
With A, cast on 22 stitches.
Work even in Garter stitch (knit every row) until piece measures about 16 in. (40.5 cm).
Change to B and work in Garter stitch until piece measures about 32 in. (81.5 cm).
Change to A and work in Garter stitch until piece measures about 48 in. (122 cm).
Change to B and work in Garter stitch until piece measures about 64 in. (162.5 cm). Bind off.
FINISHING Weave in ends. |
