Bright Lights Scarf
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE:
18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
Seed Stitch (over odd number of sts)
Row 1 (RS): K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end.
Rep Row 1 for Seed St.
NOTES:
1) To follow charts, work RS rows from right to left and WS rows from left to right.
2) When working charts, use a separate ball for each color.
3) Pick up new color from under old color to twist yarns and prevent holes.
SCARF With A, cast on 57 sts.
Work in Seed St for 8 rows.
Row 1 (RS): Keeping first and last 5 sts in Seed st, remaining sts in St st (k on RS, p on WS), follow Row 1 of Chart 1 across.
Continue as established, keeping first and last 5 sts in Seed St and remaining sts in St st until Chart 1 has been completed.
In same way, work Chart 2, and then Chart 3.
When Chart 3 has been completed, work in Seed St with E only for 8 rows.
Bind off.
FINISHING Weave in ends.
