GAUGE:
10 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern st with 2 strands of yarn held tog. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cable Panel Scarf Reviewed by Michelle Ortiz on 2010-02-11
I made this scarf and it came out great. I ended up stopping sooner than the pattern suggested because it was getting too long. I repeated the pattern 11 times instead of 13 and only used 4 balls of yarn.
