GAUGE:

20 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in pattern stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Playful Stripes Cardigan Reviewed by Pat Williams on 2011-04-16 ***
I made the sweater and I agree with most of the other ladies. Works too large and the front button and button hole strip worked bad. I tore it out and now I'm going to try again with smaller needles and smaller size.
liked the look of the pattern.
