1) Work Ears, Arms and Legs in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
2) To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.
CAT
BODY FRONT With A, ch 17.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across – 16 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures 5 in. (12.5 cm) from beg.
Fasten off.
BODY BACK Work as for Front.
ARMS AND LEGS (make 4) With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnds 3–7: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.
TAIL With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnds 2 and 3: Sc in each sc around; change to A in last st of last rnd.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around.
Rep Rnd 4 until piece measures 3 in. (7.5 cm) from beg.
Fasten off.
FINISHING Following package directions, attach safety eyes to Body Front. With pink yarn, embroider a straight stitch nose. With B, embroider straight stitch whiskers. Join Body Front and Back with A by working sc evenly spaced around 3 sides through both thicknesses, working 2 sc in each corner. Before closing last side, stuff Body. Fasten off A.
Stuff Arms and Legs and sew to Body. With A, sew running stitch diagonally across the top corners of Body, through all thicknesses, for ears. Sew on Tail. Weave in ends.
