GAUGE:

12 double crochet = 4 in. (10 cm) with 2 strands held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

Wind yarn into 2 balls before beginning.

Cloud Cascade Scarf Reviewed by Elaine Dong on 2009-11-16 *****
After reading the reviews, I used the directions for Row 1 in Rows 2 and 3; Row 2 directions were used for Row 3, and Row 3 directions were used for Row 4; Row 4 directions were ignored. It came out very ruffled this way, even if it takes a little more yarn and a little more time. As my first and second crochet projects, it takes me way more than 2 hours to complete the scarves (I'm on my second one because I really liked how it came out!), but nowhere near as much time as it takes me to knit a really nice similar scarf.
