GAUGE: 15 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) over Tweed Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Tweed Pattern
Row 1 (WS): With A, knit.
Row 2 (RS): With B, sl 1 st knitwise wyib, * k1, sl 1 st purlwise wyib; rep from *, end sl 1 st knitwise wyib.
Row 3: With B, knit.
Row 4: With A, sl 1 st knitwise wyib, * sl 1 st purlwise wyib, k1; rep from *, end sl 1 st knitwise wyib.
Rep rows 1-4 for Tweed Pattern.

SCARF
With A, cast on 22 sts.
Work in Tweed Pattern until piece measures about 54 in. (137 cm) from beg, end with a Row 1. Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

| This pattern is a fantastic introduction to slip stitch patterns- the colour work looks amazing and is simple but satisfying to knit. I have made this twice, for the 2nd scarf I CO more stitches adding 2 panels of solid colour using the stitch pattern. This will be a pattern I return to again and again!
