Rnd 1: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in ring, *ch 2, 2 hdc in ring; rep from * 2 more times, ch 2; join B with sl st in top of beg ch.
Rnd 2: Sl st to first ch-2 sp, ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), hdc in same ch-2 sp, *ch 2, 2 hdc in same ch-2 sp, ch 1, 2 hdc in next ch-2 sp; rep from * 2 more times, ch 2, 2 hdc in same ch-2 sp, ch 1; join A with sl st in top of beg ch.

FINISHING Sew sides of Underpiece to Back, leaving 3 (3 1/2, 4, 4 1/2) in. [7.5 (9, 10, 11.5) cm] open on each side for legs.

Made this for a present. Made the neck smaller. Overlapped the leg openings since I didn't know how it would fit the dog. Easy & fast to make. My friend and her new doggy loved it!! Would make it again. I used Lion brand Suede yarn and it worked out well.
