GAUGE:

17 sts + 25 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Nature Baby Kimono Reviewed by Susannah Chen on 2009-06-30 *****
This was very easy, quick, and gratifying to make. Would recommend this to someone who wants is a quasi-beginner knitter. I modified the tie arrangement a bit to tie inside under the left armpit and then outside under the right armpit. This is how some my child's baby clothes from Asia were designed, and it was easier to get them on her with the two ties (one inner, one outer). See photos.
