Striped Dish Mats

GAUGE: 15 sts and 16 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| Lily Dish Mats Reviewed by Susan Wahlmann on 2011-09-02 |

| I love this pattern - I made two of them out of cotton yarn. The texture is beautiful and they are thick. I wish Lion Brand would remove oven pad from the list of uses, however - I received a really nasty 2nd degree burn on my thumb using one to remove cookies from the oven. As a solution I thought about sewing two together to increase heat resitance, but they're too thick. I held two together to see and with my small hands they were too bulky to grip.
