GAUGE:

16 sts + 21 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) using larger needles. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Portland Cardigan Reviewed by Cindy Mantooth on 2014-03-09 **
I made this and it looks similar to the photo. Similar. I made the green shown and added orange "nut " slice buttons. Cute. BUT ...the collar instructions and construction is horrible. Mine is screwy and staying that way. Cannot get it right. Love the yarn and color. I wore it in the Fall and it is warm and cozy. Just do yourself a favor and ignore the collar. Do something, anything else. P.S. I am a long time knitter.
