GAUGE:

12 sc + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Blanket Stitch: Working from left to right, bring large-eyed blunt needle from back to front approximately 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) from edge of work. Bring needle around and insert from front to back, catching yarn to form a “corner.”

NOTES:

Yarn amount is sufficient for 3 blocks.

SQUARES (make 3 each in A, B, C, D, E, and F)
Ch 25.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 1, skip 1, sc in each st across.
Repeat Row 2 for a total of 22 times.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

FELTING
Wash squares by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. Remove from dryer and pull each piece into shape. Allow to dry.

FINISHING
Use one square of each color to make each Block. With G and working through both thicknesses, blanket st Squares together along edges. Before sewing last edge, stuff Block with fiberfill.

I love these blocks. Very easy to do. Lion brand did not include the color winter white which is used to blanket stitch the blocks together.make sure when you order that you order that.
