Hexagon Washcloth
Lion Brand® Lion® Cotton
GAUGE: 10 hdc = 4 in. (10 cm)
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| HDC a BIG PLUS Reviewed by Wamba Rickenbach on 2010-09-18 |

The use of HDC instead of SC in the other similar hexagon crochet pattern for washcloths creates a thicker fabric more suited to practical use. I would consider repeating this pattern using two strands, which would effectively produce a very thick, long-wearing washcloth.
What I actually did was shortened the pattern to make coasters about 4" in diameter. It worked well for this, too.
