GAUGE: Motif 1 = 13 x 13 in. (33 x 33 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Dtr2tog: Yarn over 3 times, insert hook in indicated st and draw up a loop, (yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times; yarn over 3 times, insert hook in next indicated st and draw up a loop, (yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times; yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.
Picot: Ch 3, sl st in first of these 3 ch to make Picot.
