GAUGE:

Center Flower Motif = 3 in. (7.5 cm) diameter BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

dc2tog: * Yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; rep from * 1 more time, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.
dc3tog: * Yarn over, insert hook in next st, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; rep from * 2 more times, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

FRONT
Flower Motif
Leaving a long tail, ch 4. Join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc in ring, ch 1) 7 times; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch — 8 dc and 8 ch-1 sps. Thread beg tail through base of first rnd of sts and draw tight to close center opening

BACK
Work as for Front.

FINISHING
With wrong sides of Front and Back together, and working through both thicknesses, join yarn with sc in any st along outside edge. Working through both thicknesses, sc in each st around 3 sides of Cover, working 3 sc in each corner. Slip pillow into Cover through open side and then sc along remaining side. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Pull ribbon through center of Flower Motif and tie into a bow.
