GAUGE:

8 sts + 13 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Lace Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sk2p- slip 1 st as if to knit, knit 2 sts together, pass slipped stitch over - 2 sts decreased.
ssk (slip, slip, knit)- slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time to right needle, insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together.

Winter Lace Afghan Reviewed by Kym Caliguri on 2008-11-27 *****
JUst finished Winter Lace ,in 149 Charcoal. It came out great. I must say the YO was a little tricky. But I made sure at the end of the row I always had 85sts on. Also before I started the pattern I made sure I did not loose any YO while purling. Also, before I started the pattern row I counted the YO before so I knew at the end I knew how many YO had to be on the row. I cannot wait to start another because it looks rich . Kym
