Meandering Rib Scarf
Lion Brand® Fishermen's Wool
GAUGE: 25 sts + 30 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette st (k on right side, p on wrong side). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

In response to Lizz Albany's review, I made my scarf about 6 feet long or 72 inches and I think it's more than sufficient, if not too long. I assume the 130 inch suggestion might have had something to do with it being suitable for a man to wear, but I still think that would be WAY too long.
As for me, I love my finished scarf, though I used much bigger needles (size 10) and a bulky weight yarn (Wool-Ease Thick and Quick) so it would be thick and warm. I made it in green and I couldn't be happier with the result!
