GAUGE:
9 sts + 7 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in hdc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Frumpy, dowdy. First thing I've made that I was really disappointed in. I'll wear it around the house to keep warm, but that's about it. I'm over "homespun" yarn. I've tried a few projects with it now, and I find I don't enjoy working with it and don't enjoy the results. No offense to Lion, as I love many of their yarns, just not this one.
