GAUGE:

14 sts + 16 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in K1, p1 rib with larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

PATTERN STITCH
K1, p1 Rib
Row 1: * K1, p1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches as they appear.
Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 rib.

BACK
With larger needles, cast on 71 (77, 85, 91, 97) sts.
Work in K1, p1 rib until piece measures 8 in. (20.5 cm) from beg, end with a WS row.
Dec 1 st each edge of next row - 69 (75, 83, 89, 95) sts.
Dec 1 st each edge every 7 1/2 in. (19 cm) twice - 65 (71, 79, 85, 91) sts.
Continue to work in K1, p1 rib until piece measures 24 in. (61 cm) from beg.
Shape Sleeves
Cast on 23 (23, 23, 25, 25) sts at beg of next 2 rows - 111 (117, 125, 135, 141) sts.
Work in K1, p1 rib until Sleeve measures 7 (8, 8, 9, 9) in. (18 (20.5, 20.5, 23, 23) cm).
Shape Sleeve Slope and Neck
Bind off 12 (12, 12, 13, 13) sts at beg of next 2 rows - 87 (93, 101, 109, 115) sts.
Bind off 11 (11, 11, 12, 12) sts at beg of next row.
Bind off 11 (11, 11, 12, 12) sts at beg of next row, AT THE SAME TIME, join a second ball of yarn and bind off center 31 (33, 33, 35, 35) sts for neck. Working with separate balls of yarn, work both Sleeves at the same time.
Bind off 9 (10, 11, 12, 14) sts at side edge every other row on each Sleeve once.
Bind off remaining 8 (9, 12, 13, 14) sts for each Sleeve.

RIGHT FRONT
With larger needles, cast on 42 (44, 50, 52, 56) sts.
Work in K1, p1 rib until piece measures 8 in. (20.5 cm), end with a WS row.
Dec 1 st at end of next row - 41 (43, 49, 51, 55) sts.
Dec 1 st at end of RS row for side edge every 7 1/2 in. (19 cm) twice - 39 (41, 47, 49, 53) sts.
Continue to work in K1, p1 rib until piece measures 24 in. (61 cm) from beg, end with a WS row.
Shape Sleeves
Cast on 23 (23, 23, 25, 25) sts at end of RS row - 62 (64, 70, 74, 78) sts.
Work in K1, p1 rib until Sleeve measures 7 (8, 8, 9, 9) in. (18 (20.5, 20.5, 23, 23) cm), end with a RS row.
Shape Sleeve Slope and Neck
Bind off 12 (12, 12, 13, 13) sts at beg of next row once, 11 (11, 11, 12, 12) sts at beg of next WS row once.
Next Row: (RS) Bind off 12 (12, 13, 13, 14) sts at beg of row for neck, work to end.
Next Row: Bind off 9 (10, 11, 12, 14) sts, work to end of row.
Next Row: Bind off 10 (10, 12, 12, 12) sts for neck, work to end of row.
Bind off remaining 8 (9, 11, 12, 13) sts.

LEFT FRONT
Work as for Right Front reversing shaping.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams.
Neck Border
Join yarn at Right Front neck. From RS with smaller needles, pick up and k 83 (85, 87, 89, 91) sts around neck, ending at Left Front neck.
Work in K1, p1 for 1 1/2 in. (4 cm). Bind off.
Sleeve Border
From RS with smaller needles, pick up and k 45 (47, 49, 51, 53) sts along lower edge of Sleeve. Work in Garter st (knit every row), for 3 in. (7.5 cm). Bind off.
Sew side and Sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
