BRACELET COVER STRIP
With smaller needles, cast on 40 sts.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 1/2 in. [1.3 cm] from beginning, end with a RS row. Row 1: Purl, increase 17 sts evenly spaced across - 57 sts. Change to larger needles. Row 2 (RS): P1, *p1, k6, rep from * across. Row 3: *P6, k1, rep from * to last st, end k1. Row 4: P1, *p into front and back of next st, k6, rep from * across - 65 sts. Row 5: *P6, k2, rep from * to last st, end k1. Row 6: P1, *sl next 3 sts to a cable needle and hold at back, k3, k3 from cable needle, p2, rep from * across. Row 7: Rep Row 5. Row 8: P1, *p2 together, k6, rep from * across. Row 9: *P6, k1, rep from * to last st, end k1. Row 10: P1, *p1, k6, rep from * across. Row 11: Change to smaller needles. Purl, decrease 17 sts evenly spaced across.
Work in St st until piece measures 3 1/2 in. [9 cm] from beg. Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew ends of strip together. Wrap strip around purchased bracelet, with St st portion to inside of bracelet. Sew strip edges together. Weave in ends.

Followed the directions to the letter, even charting out where the increases should be, and it came out looking horrible. I REALLY like the idea and will try the other pattern on the site. This was frogged immediately.
