FRONT
With A, ch 23. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 22 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 21 sc. Rows 3-21: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each sc across - 2 sc. Row 22: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog - 1 sc.
Fasten off.
BACK
With B, make same as Front.
WINGS (make 2)
With B, ch 2. Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc. Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 18 sc. Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around - 24 sc.
Fasten off.
OUTER EYES (make 2)
With D, ch 2. Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc. Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 18 sc.
Fasten off.
INNER EYES (make 2)
With C, ch 2. Rnds 1 and 2: Work Rnds 1 and 2 of Outer Eyes.
FINISHING
Hold Front and Back with wrong sides together. Working through both thicknesses, join B with slip st and sc around decreased sides of Body.
Fold top point down 2 in. (5 cm) to Front and tack in place. Layer Inner Eyes onto Outer Eyes and tack at center on either side of folded point. Following package directions, attach safety eyes through both eye layers and Front of Body.
Stuff piece. Join A with slip st and sc evenly along lower, straight edge of Body.
Fold each Wing in half to make a half circle and sew closed. Sew Wings to sides of Body. Weave in ends.
