STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

1) Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
2) To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.

DOG
EYE

With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Fasten off.

BODY
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around – 36 sc.
Rnds 7–12: Sc in each sc around. Following package directions, attach one safety eye to Body and attach other safety eye through crochet Eye, then through Body.
Rnds 13-18: Sc in each sc around; change to C in last st of last rnd.
Rnds 19 and 20: Sc in each sc around; change to D in last st of last rnd.
Rnds 21 and 22: Sc in each sc around; change to C in last st of last rnd.
Rnds 23–26: Rep Rnds 19–22.
Rnds 27 and 28: Sc in each sc around; change to A in last st of last rnd.
Rnds 29–32: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 33: *Sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.
Rnd 34: *Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 35: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 18 sc. Stuff piece.
Rnd 36: *Sc2tog, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 12 sc.
Rnd 37: (Sc2tog) around – 6 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through last rnd and gather tightly. Knot to secure.

ARMS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnds 3 and 4: Sc in each sc around; change to C in last st of last rnd.

TAIL

Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around – 8 sc.
Rnds 4–6: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.

FINISHING
With black yarn, embroider straight stitch nose. Sew open end of Ears to top of Head, fold over and tack down. Stuff Arms, Legs, and Tail and sew to Body. Weave in ends.

This was not only my first time making an Amigurumi, but also my very first time crocheting. This dog was fantastically quick and easy to make, and I love the finished product! I definitely recommend this pattern.
