GAUGE: 18 hdc = 4 in. (10 cm) with smaller hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| I was excited about doing this pattern, it was my first attempt doing an adult top. I used a worsted weight yarn but not cotton, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't turn out the way I expected it to. the sleeves were too long and it was kind of stiff. It's a cute top and maybe adjusting the sleeves the right length for each person and using a softer yarn would make it more appealing. Great pattern but needs to be customized for each individual person.
