Crochet Graphic Block Lapghan
Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: 10 sts and 6 1/2 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in hdc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Carry color not in use along wrong side of work.

STRIP 1 (make 3)
Block 1
With A, ch 20.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across - 18 sts.
Rows 2-12: With A, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to B in last st of Row 12. Fasten off A.
Block 2
Rows 1 and 2: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rows 3 and 4: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in first 3 sts; change to C, hdc in next 12 sts; change to B, hdc in last 3 sts.
Row 5-8: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in first 3 sts; change to C, hdc in next 3 sts; change to A, hdc in next 6 sts; change to C, hdc in next 3 sts; change to B, hdc in last 3 sts.
Rows 9 and 10: Rep Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 11 and 12: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to A in last st of Row 12. Fasten off B.
Block 3
Rows 1-12: With A, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to B in last st of last row. Fasten off A.
Blocks 4 and 5
Repeat Blocks 2 and 3 (of Strip 1). Fasten off.
STRIP 2 (make 2)
Block 1
With B, ch 20.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across - 18 sts.
Row 2: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rows 3 and 4: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in first 3 sts; change to A, hdc in next 12 sts; change to B, hdc in last 3 sts.
Rows 5-8: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in first 3 st; change to A, hdc in next 3 sts; change to C, hdc in next 6 sts; change to A, hdc in next 3 sts; change to B, hdc in last 3 sts.
Rows 9 and 10: Repeat Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 11 and 12: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to A in last st of Row 12. Fasten off B.
Block 2
Rows 1-12: With A, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to B in last st of Row 12. Fasten off A.
Block 3
Row 1: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Rows 2-12: Work Rows 2-12 of Block 1 (of Strip 2).
Blocks 4 and 5
Repeat Blocks 2 and 3 (of Strip 2). Fasten off.
FINISHING
Beginning and ending with Strip 1, arrange 5 strips along long edges alternating Strips 1 and 2. Sew strips together along long edges.
Edging: From right side, join C with slip st in top edge, work sc evenly spaced around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off.
Weave in ends. |
