5 1/2 Hour Throw
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
GAUGE:
2 V-sts + 3 1/2 rows = 5 in. (12.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
THROW
Starting at lower edge, ch 61. Row 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1, dc in same ch (V-st made), *sk 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch (V-st made); repeat from * to last 2 ch, sk 1 ch, dc in last ch - 19 ch-1 sp and 1 dc on each end. Rows 2-40: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, (dc, ch 1, dc) in each ch-1 space across, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch.
Fasten off.
FINISHING Side Edging
From right side, join yarn with sc in any corner of Throw. Work sc evenly spaced along one long edge of Throw. Repeat on opposite long edge.

Trim Fringe ends evenly.

5 1/2 Hour Throw Reviewed by CECI FLORES on 2010-02-13
I made a total of 6 afghans for Christmas last year and the year before using this yarn. I had never used this yarn before, but REALLY enjoyed it. I did use this 5 1/2 hr pattern for some of the afghans and then for several others, just chained a certain # and did straight DC, all patterns using a "N" hook. Some I made with just one color and some were 2 colors in a color stripe fashion. All who got them have since told me how much they have enjoyed them and how very warm they are. I am fixing to start a new one in fisherman and pumpkin for a dear friend in another state(orange is her favorite color) and then one for myself in fisherman and pine. THIS IS ALSO A GOOD YARN FOR BEGINNER CROCHETERS AND KNITTERS. I will DEFINIETLY continue to use this yarn in the future instead of homespun (which I feel is very hard to work with either knit or crochet).
