GAUGE:
8 single crochet and 12 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
PURSE
Chain 27. Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across - 26 single crochet. Row 2: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each single crochet across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 18 in. (45.5 cm) from beginning. Button loop Row: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first 13 single crochet, chain 8 (for button loop), single crochet in each single crochet to end. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half to measure 13 in. (33 cm) wide x 9 in. (23 cm) deep. Sew side seams. Strap
Make a chain 36 in. (91.5 cm) long. Sew one end of chain to either side seam at top edge of Purse. Weave in ends. Sew button opposite button loop.
I am currently working on making this but I am making it smaller to let my daughter use it with the shirt and skirt I just made for her.
