TV Lapghan

Lion Brand® Homespun®

GAUGE:

2 V-sts + 3 rows = 5 in. (12.5 cm) in V-st pattern with 1 strand each of A, B and C held together. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

NOTES:

Lapghan is worked with 1 strand each of A, B and C held together throughout.

Editor’s Note: When creating fringe using Homespun please note that because of the texture of the yarn the fringe will fray when cut. If you prefer a non-frayed look you can knot the ends, knit or crochet a fringe, or use hairspray or fray check.

LAPGHAN
With 1 strand each of A, B and C held together, ch 55.
Row 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook, ch 1, dc in same ch (first V-st made), *sk next 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch (V-st made); rep from * to last 2 ch, sk next ch, dc in last ch - 17 V-sts.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, *(dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-1 space; rep from * across, dc in top of turning ch.
Rows 3-35: Rep Row 2.
Fasten off.
Edging
Holding 1 strand each of A, B and C together, join yarn in any corner of Lapghan.
Edging Row: Ch 1, single crochet evenly spaced along long edge of Lapghan. Fasten off. Rep along other long edge.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
Fringe
For each fringe cut 3 strands of each color (9 strands total) approximately 22 in. (56 cm) long. Hold the 9 strands together and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of Lapghan, forming a loop. Pull ends of Fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make Fringe evenly spaced along top and lower edges of Lapghan. Trim Fringe evenly.

i liked the way this lapghan came out except for the color, for some reason the plum purple stands way out in the blanket...didnt give me the subtle look i was going for.
