Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

SHAWL
Loosely chain 43 stitches.
Row 1: Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and each chain across.
Row 2: Chain 2, turn, half double crochet in each half double crochet across.
Repeat last row until all yarn has been used. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

This was my first project ever and I must say it was very easy to follow. I am always getting confused by complicated directions for craft projects, which is very discuraging but this pattern was easy to follow even for a beginer like me!
