12 dc + 5 1/2 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern.
10 1/2 sc + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. I am a beginner to crochet, this is the first pattern that I have followed without a video tutorial. It was very easy until I got to the edging. It did not seem to look right, so I just did my own thing and ended up with a nice ridging.
