Lace Scarf
Lion Brand® Lion® Cotton
GAUGE:
20 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Lace Stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Number of stitches will change from 34 stitches on Row 1 to 30 stitches on Rows 2–7 to 34 stitches on Row 8.

This was my first attempt at lace and I really loved knitting this scarf. Once I got on to the pattern, it was easy to keep track of the rows and I followed the pattern exactly with out any problems. I think next time I will cast on 17 stitches and knit only the first half across the row as I prefer to wear skinny scarves.
