Fall Fling Hat
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
GAUGE:
19 sts + 17 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in k2, p2 Rib, unstretched. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
w&t (wrap and turn) Slip next st as if to purl, bring yarn between needles to opposite side of work, slip same st back to left hand needle, turn work and bring yarn between needles again (one st wrapped). This hat IS easy, but they got the gauge wrong! Tsk Tsk! It should be more like 9sts = 4 inches. They tell you to go with size 15 needles and want you to get 19sts = 4 inches? No no!
I used size 13 needles and this turned out perfectly. If you cast on and it seems too big at first, don't worry. The rib knit pulls in once it comes off the needle.
As for the style, it looks good on the model, but I haven't decided how it looks on me.
