Two-Tone Jacket
Lion Brand® Lion® Organic Cotton
GAUGE: 20 sts + 40 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

 BACK
With A, cast on 56 (60, 62, 66, 68) sts. Work in garter st (k every row) until piece measures 10 (11, 12, 14, 16) in. (25.5 (28, 30.5, 35.5, 40.5) cm) from beg. Bind off. |
 LEFT FRONT
With A, cast on 32 (34, 35, 37, 38) sts. Work even in garter st until front measures 7 (8, 9, 11, 13) in. (18 (20.5, 23, 28, 33) cm), end with a WS row.
Shape Neck
Bind off 15 sts, knit to end of row - 17 (19, 20, 22, 23) sts.
Dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 4 times - 13 (15, 16, 18, 19) sts.
Work until piece measures same as Back. Bind off.
Mark placement for 5 buttons with first and last 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) inside edge of Hoodie and remaining 3 spaced evenly between.
RIGHT FRONT
Work as for Left Front, reversing neck shaping and working buttonholes on RS rows as follows: k1, k2tog, yo, knit to end. |
 SLEEVES (Make 2)
With B, cast on 35 sts. Work in garter st, inc 1 st each side every 6th row 5 (8, 8, 10, 13) times - 45 (51, 51, 55, 61) sts.
Work until piece measures 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) in. (20.5 (23, 25.5, 28, 30.5) cm) from beg. Bind off. |
HOOD
Sew shoulder seams. From RS with B, beg at Right Front neck edge, pick up and k15 sts evenly spaced across bound-off neck sts, 10 sts up Right Front neck edge, 30 sts across Back neck, 10 sts down Left Front neck edge, 15 sts across bound-off sts of Left Front - 80 sts.
Work even in garter st until Hood measures 8 (8, 9, 9, 10) in. (20.5 (20.5, 23, 23, 25.5) cm). Bind off.
POCKETS (Make 2)
With B, cast on 19 (23, 23, 23, 25) sts.
Work in garter st until Pocket measures 4 in. (10 cm).
Bind off.
FINISHING
Place markers 4 1/2 (5, 5, 5 1/2, 6) in. (11.5 (12.5, 12.5, 14, 15) cm) down from shoulders. Sew Sleeves between markers. Sew side and Sleeve seams. Sew Pockets to Fronts, centered and about 1 in. (2.5 cm) above lower edge.
Right Hood Edging
From RS with B, beg at Right Front lower edge, pick up and k1 st in each ridge of garter st up to top of Hood. Bind off loosely.
Left Hood Edging
From RS with B, beg at top of Hood on Left Front, pick up and k1 st in each ridge of garter st to lower edge. Bind off loosely.
Fold Hood in half and sew top bound-off edges together.
Bottom Edging
From RS with B, pick up and k1 st in each st along lower edge of Hoodie. Bind off loosely. Sew on buttons.
