Easy Booties
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
12 sc + 15 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Bootie is crocheted in one piece: first the sole, beginning at the heel, then the sides of the Booties, the top of the foot and then the cuff.

Easy Booties Reviewed by Wendy J Mecca on 2013-02-20
These booties are pretty easy. I just made the largest size. One problem that I had; when starting the top, if I did the 2sc then slip stitch, then turned and completed the first row, it would be off-center. I skipped the 2sc, just did the slip stitch, then turned, skipped the sl st, and finished the row. The rest of the top was fine. I did as many folks here suggested, and used the stitch markers. (I use them a lot-they really help--I have been crocheting for years). I made the larger size for my 5 year old granddaughter for her birthday. After she wore them all evening, I decided to add an extra sole. I made it 2 stitches wider, and 2 rows longer than the one for the slipper. Slip stitched it on the bottom, to make it a bit firmer. For the baby ones, I'm sure that's not necessary. Of course, adorned it with a pretty bow...I thought the top of the cuff needed reinforced also. Added contrasting color using hdc, then sl stitch around. When doing this, I added extra stitches on each end to tie the bow. She's very girlie, and had to have a flower on the toes, too. The second pair is going much quicker. I wish I had a camera so I could send a photo.. I love these booties, love the pattern.
