GAUGE:
16 sts + 22 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Hooded Sweater Reviewed by Heather Gamble on 2012-12-14
Most of this pattern was easy and well written. However, the instructions for the hood were not clear. The hood can't be knit on two straight needles. You either need a circular needle or more than two needles. Also the hood doesn't overlap in the front as much as this picture shows unless you start the hood more toward the middle of the front. The front of the hood is a bit tight - when I picked up the stitches around the front edge of the hood maybe I didn't leave it loose enough. Other than the difficulties with the hood it is a great pattern. My son wanted it in solid purple.
