Lion Brand® Jiffy®
GAUGE: 14 stitches + 18 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Garter stitch (knit every row) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

HAT
Cast on 70 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch (knit every row) until yarn is almost used up. Bind off, leaving a long end.
FINISHING
Seam ends of rows forming a tube. Use long end to gather top of Hat, knot securely. Follow package directions to make a pompom with remaining yarn. Tie pompom to top of Hat. Weave in ends. |

I knitted 4 of these hats. I changed color and made a pattern using white and a few contrasting color. Used the colors for the pom pom.
I also reduced stitches every other row to make a better top. Unfortunately I didn't write it down.
I expect to donate 3 of them to some organization, within our community.
