Crochet Afghan

GAUGE:
10 single crochet = 4 in. (10 cm), each square measures 8 x 8 in. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
AFGHAN SQUARE (make 35)
With A, chain 21. Row 1 Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across. Row 2 Chain 1, turn. Single crochet in each single crochet across. With A, repeat Row 2 for 5 in. (12.5 cm). Change to B and repeat Row 2 for 3 in. (7.5 cm) more. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Following ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM , sew squares together. Border
Join A with a slip stitch in any corner. Work single crochet evenly spaced around outside edge of Afghan, working 3 single crochet in each corner. Join with slip stitch in beginning single crochet. Repeat for 2nd round of Border. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
This was an easy project, the only part that took some time was the sewing of the blocks. I did mine in Nouveau and Montana Sky.
