GAUGE:
16 stitches + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
SCARF
Cast on 28 stitches. Rows 1-6: Knit. Row 7 (RS): Knit. Row 8 (WS): Knit 4, purl 20, knit 4.
Repeat Rows 7 and 8 until approximately 4 yards (3.5 m) of yarn remains. Next 6 Rows: Knit.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
I bought this yarn with no project in mind and I just love how the color flash effect turned out on this scarf. I'm an advanced knitter, so it was a nice quick project, but since some reviews had problems with curling I did a seed stitch border instead of the garter stitch and it's a nice flat scarf. I couldn't be happier with the result I got from a pretty yarn that has been sitting in the stash so long.
