GAUGE:
16 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Seed stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Seed Stitch Hat Reviewed by carol pearson on 2013-01-24
Tthis turned out very well. I did add 1/2 an inch to the 5 inch instructions before working on the crown, and for much easier knitting I did the crown shaping entirely in garter stitch (knit only). It turned out well as the garter stitch blended well with the seed stitch. I am very pleased and I think this is a wonderful pattern. Thanks.
