GAUGE:

16 sts + 26 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Naturally Nice Baby Sweater Reviewed by Anita Bozzo on 2010-02-11 ****
This is a fun sweater to knit. As others have said, it is a very small sweater. I'm not sure why, but the neckline of the sweater seemed a little large compared to the rest of it. (I did not, however, get to see it on a baby - it was a gift) In addition, pay heed to the knitter who suggested putting the rest of the sweater on a circular needle instead of holders while knitting the sleeves. Much easier solution. To make it larger, I'm going to try to make it on larger needles next time, and again, like another knitter said, add a few inches to the sleeves and length. I'm also going to try garter as edging next time. This is an easy pattern to alter if necessary. I figure it'll fit a new baby at one point or another!
