Lion Brand® Sasha
GAUGE: 12 stitches = 4 in. [10 cm] in Garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

BAG
Cast on 26 stitches. Work in Garter stitch (knit every row) until only a few yards of yarn
remain. Bind off.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half to measure about 4½ x 8 in. [11.5 x 20.5 cm]. Seam sides. With sewing needle
and thread, sew on handles. Weave in ends. |

I loved making this for my niece. To keep it closed, I purchased a black plastic hair pin at Hair Depot for $1.99--it looks like a short chop stick. They had them with tiny rhinestones, too! You just weave it in and out!
Or you could sew a tiny button to the inside of one side, and push it thru the other side to keep closed.
