Make It Yours Purse-Swirling Spirals
Lion Brand® Lion® Wool
GAUGE: 15 sts + 18 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) before felting.
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: EMBROIDERY STITCH EXPLANATIONS
Blanket Stitch
Secure yarn on back of work. Working from left to right, carry needle and yarn around from back to front, allow yarn to wrap loosely over edge of work. *Insert needle from front to back approx. 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) from previous stitch and from edge of work, catching yarn wrap with needle to form a "corner". Gently tighten stitch; repeat from * along edge.
Embroidered Chain Stitch
Bring needle from back through to front, hold thread toward you with left thumb, *bring needle back down through same hole, bringing tip to front a short space forward. Pull thread through loop. Repeat from * for chain stitch. |

| I wish i could show u a pic. I only had size 8 needles and I used the same amt of stitches the directiins call for, so mine is probably smaller than the original- but I love it! This is my first felting project. I am a very beginner knitter. I kind of made my own button loop bc I didnt understand the directions- and it is just fine. I did not put my pouch in the dryer. It may not be perfectly felted- but it is not over felted either. I feel it is just right. The shape did not warp and it feels very durable. Now I need to go buy some embroidery thread and learn how to blanket stitch so I can sew this baby up! I LOVE it! Although, The felting yarn did stick a lot to my bamboo needles. That wasnt fun- but its so cute I will probably make more. :)
