GAUGE:

11 dc-groups + 7 rnds = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Crochet Baby Granny Square Afghan Reviewed by pam Bingham on 2008-08-31 *****
I used scraps of variegated, light, dark, medium, and even different kinds of blue yarns. I started with my smaller pieces and worked out. I also used white as a contrast My Sister-in Law that never collects anything asked to have it when I finished. My husband saw the finished project and thought it is the prettiest afghan I've ever made. that is saying a lot because I have done dozens.
