GAUGE:
17 tr + 10 rows = 6 in. (15 cm) in pattern stitch BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc dec) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook. tr2tog (tr dec) (Yarn over) twice, insert hook into st and draw up a loop, (yarn over and draw through 2 loops) twice. (Yarn over) twice, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. (Yarn over and draw through 2 loops) twice, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.
PATTERN STITCH
Row 1 (RS): Tr in 5th ch from hook (counts as 2 tr) and in each ch across. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each tr across. Row 3: Ch 4 (counts as tr), turn, tr in each sc across.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 for pattern stitch.
FRONT AND BACK (make 2) Ch 51 (57, 63, 69, 75). Row 1 (RS): Tr in 5th ch from hook (counts as 2 tr) and in each ch across 48 (54, 60, 66, 72) sts. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each tr across. Row 3: Ch 4 (counts as tr here and throughout), turn, tr in each sc across.
Work even in pattern stitch until piece measures 10 in. (25.5 cm) from beg, end with a Row 2. Dec Row: Ch 4, turn, tr2tog, tr in each sc to last 3 sc, tr2tog, tr in last sc 46 (52, 58, 64, 70) sts.

FINISHING Sew side seams. Position Pockets over side seams about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) above lower edge. Sew lower two-thirds of each Pocket to dress. Straps (make 2) From RS, join yarn at side seam of left armhole, sl st loosely along front armhole edge to top edge, ch 33 (34, 35, 36, 37), sl st in top of Back and sl st along back armhole edge to first sl st, join with sl st in first sl st. Rnd 1: Ch 1; working in back loops only, sc in each sl st and ch around; join with sl st in first sc. Rnds 2-5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc around; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off. Rep around second armhole. Lower Edging
From RS, join yarn at side seam of lower edge and work 1 rnd of sc.
Weave in ends.
The only problem I have is the straps are a bit long and I had to alter them because they stuck out under the armpits. So I decreased around the bottom of the strap as needed. It's bulkier than it seems just FYI. Other than that the pattern works great.
