Pom pom Scarf

GAUGE:
10 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over Rows 1-5 with larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
SCARF With larger needles and B, cast on on 60 sts. Row 1: With B, purl. Rows 2 and 3: With A, knit. Row 4: With B, knit. Row 5: With B, purl. Rows 6-41: Rep Rows 2-5. Rows 42-44: Rep Rows 2-4.
With B, bind off.
FINISHING
Ties (make 8)
With 2 double pointed needles and A, cast on 5 sts. *Slide sts to other end of needle and knit
them, pulling yarn tightly across the back of the work. (Do not turn work.) Rep from * to make cord.
When cord is desired length, bind off. Make 2 cords each 21 in. (53.5 cm); 2 cords each 18 in. (45.5
cm); 2 cords each 15 in. (38 cm); and 2 cords each 12 in. (30.5 cm); for a total of 8 cords.
Pom Pom (make 8)
Follow package instructions to make 2 small, 4 medium and 2 large pom poms.
Sew a pom pom to one end of each cord. Sew cords to ends of scarf.
Weave in ends.
