GAUGE:
16 dc + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. FINISHING
Sew right shoulder seam. Lap left front shoulder over back and sew at armhole edge. Sew in
Sleeves. Sew side and Sleeve seams. Sew on buttons. Use spaces between sts as buttonholes.
Neckband
From RS, join A with sl st at neck edge of Front left shoulder. Row 1: Ch 3, work 1 round dc evenly spaced around neck edge. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.

This is a fun and easy pattern to follow. The pieces fit so well together. It is wide and short-bodied, though, so don't be afraid to make minor adjustments to get the sizing right. This sweater looks great when made with a single solid color (instead of stripes) and is more gender-neutral than it appears in the picture.
I wasn't a really big fan of the buttons, so I omitted the steps necessary to add them. It was simple enough: do not make the row of dcs on the left shoulder of the back piece and sew the front and back together as a pullover.
