GAUGE:

12 sts + 16 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Wave Stitch pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Wave Stitch (multiple of 11 + 4 sts) Rows 1-5: Knit. Row 6 (RS): K2, *k2tog, k2, inc 1 in next 2 sts, k3, k2tog; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2. Row 7: K2, p to last 2 sts, k2. Rows 8-11: Rep Rows 6 and 7 twice. Row 12: Rep Row 6.

AFGHAN
With A, cast on 136 sts.
Rows 1-12: With A, work Rows 1-11 of Wave Stitch pattern, change to B and work Row 12 of pattern.
Rows 13-24: With B work Rows 1-11 of pattern, change to A and work Row 12 of pattern.
Rows 25-36: With A work Rows 1-11 of pattern, change to C and work Row 12 of pattern.
Rows 37-48: With C work Rows 1-11 of pattern, change to A and work Row 12 of pattern.
Rep Rows 1-48 four more times, do not change to A for last row, work Row 12 with C.
With C, Knit 4 rows. Bind off.
