Lion Brand® Cotton-Ease®

GAUGE:

11½ hdc + 11 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

*5 rows A, 5 rows B, 5 rows C, 5 rows D, 5 rows E, 5 rows D, 5 rows B, 5 rows A, 5 rows C, 5 rows F, 5 rows D, 5 rows B; rep from * for Color Sequence.

NOTES:

To change color, work last stitch to the point where there are 3 loops on hook, yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete stitch.

I have been crocheting for years but never found a pattern I would stick to until now. This pattern is simple but yields a beautiful blanket. I made this for my father. I added many extra rows in order for it to cover his bed. Also, I did not use the suggested pattern. Instead, I used six colors and whatever order I began using them in I continued to use around the entire blanket. It gave it a different look from the afghan they have pictured which I like. :)
