15 sts + 21 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I'm making my third sweater from this pattern! One was a gift--like others I found the yarn recommendation to be too bulk, so for the second one I used the cashmere blend, and actually crocheted it following the pattern. This time I'm using Wool-Ease and following the pattern, except I added a garter stitch on the edges so it doesn't curl.
