GAUGE:

12 hdc = 5 in. (12.5 cm); 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Log Cabin Afghan Reviewed by Amanda Trevor on 2012-10-15 *****
I maded this afghan for one of my family members for Christmas. It was easy to make. I use six colors and added four more rows on two sizes(because that person is about 6ft tall). I also add 6-8" fring to make it stand out more. They love it and use dearing the cold winters up north.
